“An Inconvenient Sequel, Truth to Power”
The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County invites the public to a special screening of “An Inconvenient Sequel, Truth to Power.” To launch the educational release of the film, co-sponsors are taking part in a national screening event on October 26th. Schools across the country will participate in a live invite-only webcast Q&A with Al Gore and view the film. An Inconvenient Sequel is directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk and is about former United States Vice President Al Gore’s continuing mission to battle climate change. The sequel to An Inconvenient Truth (2006), the film addresses the progress made to tackle the problem and Gore’s global efforts to persuade governmental leaders to invest in renewable energy, culminating in the landmark signing of 2016’s Paris Agreement. The film was released on July 28, 2017 by Paramount Pictures.
When: Thursday, October 26. Doors open at 5:15. Seating at 5:30. Live webcast with Al Gore begins 5:45 followed by film at approximately 6:15 p.m.
Where: Luecht Conference Center, McHenry County College, 8900 U.S. Highway 14 in Crystal Lake. Event is free to the public, but donations appreciated.
