A Celebration of Wildflowers and Art

WHEN:          Saturday, May 6, Noon–4 p.m.

WHERE:        Coral Woods Conservation Area, 7400 Somerset, Marengo

WHO:             This free public special event is expected to attract 250-300 attendees including families.

·         Plein Air Painters will be along the trails (painting “in the open air”) along the trails capturing the fleeting beauty of the native spring wildflowers.

·         Several musical groups will perform in the picnic grove throughout the event: Storytelling by Andy Talley at 12:30; Viva Voce, a select ensemble from Voices in Harmony Community Choir at 1:15; Ukulele Superheroes Club at 2:00; and 4 Strings Attached Violinists at 2:30 p.m. (Order of appearance subject to change)

·         Visitors can hike the woodland trail; witness local artists as they capture the beauty of spring wildflowers on canvas; plant some wildflower seeds to take home and gather some information on native landscaping around the home.

·         Kids will also enjoy their own Woodland Art Studio, wildflower craft station, storytelling and wildflower reading corner.
