Spring Luncheon Fundraiser

Beguiling, revealing and amusing. Queen Victoria’s Secrets will be shared by Debra Mancoff at the Woodstock Fine Arts Association’s 37th Annual Spring Luncheon Fundraiser for the Arts of McHenry County. A scholar-in-residence at the Newberry Llibrary and author of more than 20 books, Dr Mancoff will be the featured speaker.
“We rarely think of Queen Victoria as laughing or loving, and we never think of her as amused, “says Dr. Mancoff, who writes about the connections between art, fashion and culture. “But her journals, letters, and photographs reveal a beguiling and passionate woman, especially when it came to men.
“This lighthearted look at the three men who ruled her heart – her mentor Lord Melbourne; the love of her life, Prince Albert; and her Highland manservant, John Brown – reveals that even Queen Victoria had some sexy secrets.
The event includes a silent auction and raffle, which funds WFAA’s scholarship program and supports the arts in McHenry County.
