Celebrate Farming in McHenry County.
In honor of days of celebration like National Ag Day (March 21) and National Farmers Day (October 12), we invite you to “slow down and return to the place it all began – on the farm.”
McHenry County boasts more than 1,000 farms spanning more than 200,000 acres, according to McHenry County Farm Bureau.
The majority of these farms are operated by families, according to Illinois Farm Families. In total, more than 21 million American workers produce, process and sell the nation’s food and fiber.
Celebrate McHenry County’s farming heritage today and year-round with local festivals and fairs, quilted barn tours and farm strolls, indoor and outdoor farmers markets, 4-H and FFA, agritourism activities and more.
