1st Friday Art Show at the Dole – People living in and near McHenry County, and throughout all of the Chicagoland area, have the opportunity to enjoy an artistic evening with wonderful featured art, chances to meet and mingle with artists, and the opportunities to purchase an original piece(s) of artwork. Lakeside Arts Park at the Dole is proud to welcome the community to the 1st Friday Art Show on Friday, September 6th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Dole Gallery: Heaven on Earth – Gabriela Leyva
For 22 seconds my soul left my body and I went to heaven. I was in a fantastic garden with beautiful colors, incredible flowers, fragrances, and a radiant sun. “I’m at home!”. I felt indescribable excitement, joy, peace, and love. My soul was a body of white light, there was no pain, no sorrow, no regret, no past.

“Would you like to continue living?” I felt the question. Without a doubt, I said, “Yes!” and in an instant, I opened my eyes in the surgery room.

This art exhibit expresses my desire to feel the connection with Heaven once again. The weightlessness of the tulle and the 3D composition create the illusion of a body of light, in its most subtle form, where there is no fear, just peace.

The Crystal Lake Camera Club, located in Crystal Lake, Illinois, was started about 1980 to provide our members with the opportunity to enjoy the hobby of photography and improve their photographic abilities. The Crystal Lake Camera Club’s mission is to welcome photographers of all skill levels and interests and to help them grow through a nurturing environment, which provides and promotes good techniques and practices, educational workshops, photographic opportunities, challenging competitions, and open discussion set in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
