COVID-19 may have succeeded in putting the McHenry County Historical Society’s car show in “neutral,” but it never slipped into “park.”

State health rules in July, pertaining to social distancing and safe assembly, forced a postponement of the accompanying car show until Cider Fest Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 4 at McHenry County Historical Museum, 6422 Main St. For information, call Tony at TJ's Klassics, 847-515-8110.

Sponsored by Intren, the free show will feature sports, classic and antique cars. Top cars will receive trophies, including one for Best of Show. As in the past, a one-of-a-kind People's Choice trophy and door prizes also will be presented.

DJ Jose Ramos will be spinning “oldies” as part of this year’s festival, which will include food vendors, an apple pressing demonstration, free access to the museum via timed tours, and a mum sale.

Face coverings and social distancing guidelines will be observed on the museum grounds for everyone’s safety. Visit www.gothistory.org for additional details.
