The Woodstock Opera House has been closed since mid-march as a result of the Covid-19 World Pandemic and like so many other businesses we face daily challenges as we seek out the best path forward in these difficult times. As a performing arts venue, with over 130 years of rich history serving as the cultural heart of McHenry county, the Woodstock Opera House has weathered many crises. However, it has always done so with the unwavering support of the local community. As the months have ticked by, with staff working to maintain and improve the facility during the lockdown, we recently discovered that some of our unpurchased concessions are reaching their best by dates, particularly our stock of BEER & CIDER! So, putting our heads together we have come up with a solution…” CLEAR THE COOLER,” a fundraising event where our loss is your gain.
On Saturday June 20, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM we will be selling all of our remaining beer/cider stock as a fundraiser for the Woodstock Opera House. Beer will be sold as either six packs or four packs with a variety of brands available and even a few mystery packs for the adventurous beer drinker. Beer orders can be placed in advance online through the Opera House website, or may be purchased in person on the day of the event. Pick up of orders, on June 20th, can be made with drive-up, “curbside pick-up,” at the stage doors located at the rear of the Opera House on Calhoun Street, or by walk-up at the front door of the Stage Left Café. Beer purchasers are reminded that they must bring a valid ID, with proof of age, to pick-up their beer orders. For those who place their orders in advance, the order must be picked up by the person who placed the order and again please have a valid ID ready.
