Mirjam Laetitia Haag, internationally distinguished organist agreed to perform at Bethany Lutheran Church on August 20 but there was a complication. Bethany’s building has some needed repair work that precludes a concert on this date. Senior Pastor Cathy Daharsh of Bethany was invited by Pastor Eric Fistler to hold the organ concert at First Congregational Church, 461 Pearson Street in Crystal Lake. The performance will begin at 3:00 pm.

Crystal Lake’s faith community collaborated to resolve the complication and will welcome Ms. Haag to perform her organ concert with works from Bach, Duruflé, Alain, Buxtehude and her own improvisation. Mirjam Laetitia Haag is currently studying both Music Education and Sacred Music in Stuttgart. She is in demand as a concert organist in Germany, Mexico and the United States. Completing her bachelor’s studies in Sacred Music in 2019 with distinction, she also studied mathematics at University of Tubingen in tandem with Music Education.

Native to Germany, Ms. Haag’s studies have brought her to Valparaiso, Indiana, Rome, Cambridge, and Groningen with the experience of learning from famous teachers including Juan Paradell Sole, Prof. Sietze de Vries, Prof. Ben van Oosten and Prof. Helmut Deutsch.
