Becker Art Gallery Grand Opening

BeckerArt Gallery will have its Grand Opening on March 17th and March 18th, noon to 4pm at 3314 Pearl Street, McHenry. Owner and nationally known artist and instructor, David R. Becker, Devin Becker and many of David’s students will be exhibiting artwork in the new studio/gallery/classroom.

David R. Becker studied at American Academy of Art in Chicago, which is the reason that a large majority of his subject matter is from his life there in the city that he loves so much. Becker worked as an illustrator for a major advertising agency in Chicago. He also started teaching around the country, right out of school, but always found time for his favorite ambition, creating fine art paintings. Today David is a full time fine art painter and instructor. He holds signature status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and has received numerous awards for his work from watercolor societies around the country.
Becker works in many mediums, including watercolor, oils and acrylics. He is mostly recognized for his watercolor scenes of Chicago. His favorite painting was commissioned by Starbucks for their Macy’s store. It is a scene looking out of that store’s window, onto Wabash, and includes the “L” platform. This painting hangs at the northeast corner of the Macy’s Starbucks store on Randolph and Wabash.
Becker is the author of Watercolor Composition Made Easy, and How to Sketch with Watercolor. He has had articles published in International Artist Magazine and in Watercolor Magic.
Come to check out the Grand Opening of Becker’s new space and the fine artwork on display.
