Northern Illinois Sheep and Fiber Festival formerly known as Spring Fiber Fling is an educational event focused on fiber and the process from “Sheep to Shawl”. It will be a weekend event with various activities for you to take part in, learn, and purchase anything from art supplies to finished handmade products. We will have different livestock expos and demonstrations going on around the grounds for you to enjoy. We will have regional sheep and goat shows including clinics and showmanship opportunities. We will host a Dog Herding Competition. We will have 3 buildings set up for our crafters, artisans and fiber related vendors with booths set up to sell everything from fiber art supplies (wool, knitting needles, crochet hooks, cloth, etc.) to finished products (handmade items). We will then have another building set up as classrooms where you can sign up to take various classes. Our instructors will be teaching different skill sets at different experience levels. The classes will consist of, but are not limited to, spinning, weaving, quilting, sewing, knitting, and fiber animal management classes. We are very excited for the event and cannot wait to give this educational experience to our community. We hope to see you there! Find more info here.
