September

August 28-September 2: Walworth County Fair

The Walworth County Fair takes place on nearly 100 acres of fairgrounds with concerts, a carnival, food vendors, games, contests, exhibitions, demo derby, monster trucks, competitions, tractor pulls, a car show and more.

August 30-September 1: Summer Sunset Festival

The Summer Sunset Festival is an annual event that offers the community an opportunity to enjoy a wealth of activities, food, and entertainment as the summer season comes to a close.

September 7: Truck Off

Truck Off is the region’s biggest food truck festival bringing foodies from all over Chicagoland to throw down on the best food trucks, while enjoying live music, entertainment and family activities. A limited number of VIP tickets are available here.

September 7: Fall Family Fest

September 7: Soul Jam

An annual event, Soul Jam is a day of good music, good people, and a good cause — all proceeds go to Hope Through Horses. Bring a lawn chair, pack a cooler, and get ready for live music, farm animals, and local artisan goods.

September 7-8: Autumn Art Tour

Artists and fine craftsmen in Woodstock and the surrounding countryside open their homes and studios to display and sell pottery, paintings, art glass, jewelry, woodworking, photography, and mixed media.

The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce presents this outdoor block party with craft beer, local restaurants and businesses, a marketplace of vendors and artists, dynamic live entertainment, and a children’s area.

September 20-22: Huntley Fall Fest

The 2019 Huntley Fall Fest features three days of entertainment, a beer garden, food vendors, a full carnival midway, plenty of fall activities, and a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday night.

September 29: McHenry County Farm Stroll

A self-guided tour of the county’s diversified family farms, McHenry County Farm Stroll features apple orchards, vegetable growers, dairy cows, beef cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, horses, alpacas, honey bees, perennial plants, hydroponics, and more. Brought to you by the McHenry County Farm Bureau.

October 5: Woodstock Ale Fest

October 6: McHenry County Historical Society 42nd Annual Cider Fest

If you like fresh apple pie, cider pressing, experiencing an old fashioned barn raising and plenty of fall fun, then make sure to attend the McHenry County Historical Society’s Cider Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October. 6, at the museum campus, 6422 Main St. in Union. In addition to free access to the museum, guests are invited to participate in an Apple Bake-Off, take home a variety of homemade apple treats and experience old-fashioned cider-making demonstrations.
