Chapel Hill Country Club debuted in 1969 and since then, has been a perennial favorite of both Lake County and McHenry County golfers. The course features one of the area’s most serene settings. Chapel Hill is truly a staple of Northwest Chicagoland golf. Operated by GolfVisions Management, Inc. since spring 2012, Chapel Hill is held in high regard by a loyal, and growing, customer base. This 18-hole championship course takes golfers on a journey through subtle, rolling hills, beautiful mature trees including many burr oaks, and challenging small greens. Chapel Hill has undulating topography, tree-lined fairways and target-type greens. The monstrously-long par 5 on number 17 attracts scores of golfers looking for a friendly challenge. Located across Rt. 47 from Crystal Woods, Craig Woods Golf Course was designed to give beginners, juniors, seniors and even seasoned golfers a challenging tract on which to develop and hone their skills. The signature island green of the third hole tests the shot-making ability of golfers with all levels of experience. Those not anxious to test their mettle can opt for the adjacent green which is surrounded by terra firma. However, slicers will still have to take care to avoid an unfortunate splash-down. Crystal Woods Golf Course was originally designed by Bill Langford in the early 1950s. The 9-hole, par 37 course was then known as Bit O’ Heather G.C. until 1967. In 1967, architect Charles Wagstaff blended the old with the new as the redesigned course became a par 72 with 18 holes. Course owners Richard and Mary Ann Craig directed this expansion as Crystal Woods became the first course of its kind, semi-private/daily fee course in McHenry County. The course opened for play in the summer of 1969.

Established in 1916, the Woodstock Country Club is the oldest country club in McHenry Country. The course designer, Thomas Bendelow, was one of America’s most prolific golf course architects.
